Extract Specific PDF Pages Into a New Document

The Extract PDF tool helps you create a new PDF from only the pages you need. Instead of sending an entire report, contract, textbook, scan, or presentation, you can pick the exact pages and download a smaller, focused PDF.

Upload a PDF, view real page thumbnails, select pages by clicking, use quick selection buttons, type page ranges such as 1-5, 8, 10-12, preview pages with zoom, and extract the selected pages into a fresh PDF.

How to Convert and Extract PDF Pages

1. Upload Your PDF

Select a PDF from your device or drag it into the upload area. After upload, the tool loads the file, reads the page count, and prepares the extraction workspace. The toolbar shows the PDF file name, total pages, and how many pages are currently selected, so you always know which document you are editing.

2. Review the Page Thumbnail Grid

Every page is displayed in a grid with a page number and thumbnail preview. This helps you identify pages visually instead of relying only on numbers. Click a thumbnail area to select or deselect that page. Selected pages are highlighted and marked with a check icon, while the selected count updates in the toolbar.

3. Use Quick Selection Buttons

The compact toolbar includes buttons for common extraction patterns:

  • Select All: Select every page in the PDF.
  • Deselect All: Clear the current selection and start again.
  • Odd Pages: Select pages 1, 3, 5, 7, and so on.
  • Even Pages: Select pages 2, 4, 6, 8, and so on.

4. Type Page Ranges for Faster Selection

For long documents, use the range box instead of clicking each page manually. Enter pages like 1-5, 8, 10-12, then click Apply Range or press Enter. The tool validates the range and selects exactly those pages. This is useful for chapters, form sections, appendices, or mixed selections from different parts of a PDF.

5. Preview Pages With Zoom

Click the zoom icon on a page card to open a larger preview. This helps when pages look similar, when the document is scanned, or when you need to confirm small details such as signatures, invoice numbers, table headings, diagrams, or page titles. From the preview, you can also select or deselect that page.

6. Extract and Download the New PDF

When the correct pages are selected, click Extract. The tool creates a new PDF containing only those selected pages. The extracted pages keep their original order from the source PDF, so selecting 10-12, 2, 5 exports them as pages 2, 5, 10, 11, 12 in the new document. After processing, download the extracted PDF, use Extract Again to create another page set from the same file, or Start Over to upload a different PDF.

Quality, Page Order, and Privacy

Extracting pages copies selected pages into a new PDF. It is designed to preserve the original page content, layout, text, and images while removing pages you did not select.

The output follows the original document order, which is what most people expect for reports, contracts, chapters, forms, and scanned documents. If you need to change page order after extraction, use the Reorder PDF tool after creating the extracted file.

The page selection, thumbnail preview, and extraction workflow are handled in the browser, making the tool practical for everyday documents where speed and privacy matter.
